Although the office has changed over the years, there is one thing about it that has not, that is our dedication to integrity in eyecare and to helping every person who walks in our clinic door see to the best of their abilities.
Our Story
Our clinic was founded by Dr. George W. Curnutt in 1967 upon his return from serving in the United States Army, where he provided eyecare to service members in Vietnam. He had an amazing 52 year long career and is still remembered fondly by his original patients, their children, grand children, and in a few cases great grand children that continued to come to him for glasses, contact lenses and vision care over the generations in Saint Helens Oregon.
OUR DOCTORS
Brooks Rodman O.D.
Brooks is an native Oregonian who currently lives in St Helens. He attended Oregon State University for his undergraduate degree. After working as an environmental health specialist on the Oregon coast he decided he wanted to work directly with people and their healthcare needs and returned to school to study Optometry.
He graduated with honors from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2012 and Received the highest score in his class on the National Board of Examiners in Optometry part 1 exam. He has a special interest in medical Optometry as well as contact lens practice.
Brooks is a local St. Helens resident and when he is not at our clinic he enjoys kayaking and other outdoor activities.
One of the things he loves about working as an eye doctor in the same town he lives in is knowing every time he goes out for groceries, or to eat at a local restaurant he will recognize people from his community he has helped with vision care.
Jahaira Lassala O.D.
Dr. Lassala is a recent graduate from Pacific University College of Optometry.
In her free time, she enjoys playing ukulele and painting.
Prior to moving to Oregon, she lived in Florida, New York, New Jersey; and has traveled throughout the eastern coast of the United States.
She is also proficient in Spanish and English.
